PRESENT IN PARIS

I literally just landed from Paris this morning and am already planning my next trip back in a month. I feel in love with the city within minutes of being there. It's definitely a metropolitan destination but the lifestyle there is unlike anything I've ever experienced.

No one is in a rush, no one is in a bad mood. Instead the street is littered with cafes and boulangeries packed with Parisians enjoying their life.

I made it a point to be very present. The time change was nice because it kept me off my phone and away from emails.

Anyways, this is a quickie post--I have so much content to post I just want to start banging it out!

Until next time x

DON'T BE AFRAID TO CATCH FEELS

“I crave a connection so deep the ocean would drown”

Oh hi, remember me? I used to post on here all the time. Don't worry though---I haven't forgotten about you, my life has just been moving at the speed of light.

If you follow me on social, then you already know I'm currently in Turks & Caicos with Men's Fashion Post. Labeling the island as beautiful would be a disservice. This is hands down, one of the most stunning destinations that I've ever been to. The salt from the ocean compliments the sweet rum punch and the island vibe is strong. Something about this little slice of heaven has put me in a very introspective place and brought on a lot of self reflection.

I spent the entire afternoon today on a very remote beach in middle Caicos with nothing but my friends and my feelings. It never ceases to amaze me how much the internet has done for me and I will never stop feeling gratitude for all the experiences i've gotten to be a part of. Cultivating an attitude of acceptance enables you to feel grateful even when you’re in pain.

I think it's both a blessing and a curse to live in this hyper-connected age. It's provided me with a livelihood I never thought possible but has also left me feeling alone. We're all so distracted by the finer details of life on the internet that we don't even realize what we're missing out on. Human connection, depth of feeling and emotional intelligence.

I struggle with alone time and seek safety in other people, especially when traveling. After being on that remote beach today, the lightbulb went off for me. No single person should ever make you feel whole, because you need to be whole on your own. Once you find out how to do that--human connection, depth of feeling and emotional intelligence is possible. These three things will foster relationships rooted in positivity trust and respect.

I think we could all use more positivity, trust & respect in our lives--don't you think?

Until next time x

BOHEMIAN PARADISE

by gregory davalos

One quick scroll through Instagram and you're sure to find  someone uploading from the white sand beaches of Tulum. The fabled bohemian paradise has become a favorite among the jet set, and it's easy to see why. Tulum offers an authentic Mexican escape that is both rustic and elevated--luxe but not pretentious.

While the destination has soared in popularity over the last few years, the jungle lined coast has maintained some of it's mystery. Local's only spots like La Eufemia and Cenote Escondido are hidden gems that will impress even the most seasoned travelers.

This was my 5th visit to Tulum, and I'm already scheduled to travel back in 3 weeks! I've never felt more connected to a destination before and I'm always creatively charged when I'm there.

I shot these photos with Adrian Martin before heading out to dinner at Gitano. The weather is extremely humid this time of year, so this Givenchy polo from Far Fetch was ideal for dancing the night away in the jungle.

THE ROSY OYSTER

by gregory davalos

Anytime I visit the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, i'm flooded with nostalgia. Having grown up in LA, I've spent my fair share of time at this famed property.

Like any Hollywood Icon, The Roosevelt finds ways to reinvent it's self again and again. They just recently launched The Rosy Oyster, a pool side pop-up that offers a selection of oysters and wines curated by model-turned-sommelier Lelanea Fulton from NYC's Dirty French.

If you're in the neighborhood, they open at 6pm for dinner.
